paxpinnae: Rainbow Dash, hanging out (and down). (friendship is magic)
1. On reflection, signing up for every unclaimed K-Pop fandom on my first day as an AO3 tag wrangler may have been a tad over-ambitious. Whatever, I'm like 60% through the backlog of confusion and crossover pairings, with only the Super Junior Mountain Of Too Many Band Members left to climb. RAMMING SPEED.

2. I am uncertain whether I should enlist in [livejournal.com profile] yagkyas or not. On the one hand, I promised myself that if I got to the minimum word count in my Kaleidoscope story by the end of enlistment, I'd do it. On the other hand, while I have the minimum, the story's not actually done. On Shiva's third hand, I really like writing Ray Person, but on this fourth hand I just found by the side of the road, I'm completely incapable of writing Brad/Nate, which is the dominant pairing in the Generation Kill fandom by a long shot. Help! I need more hands! Or fewer, whichever one helps me to resolve shit.

3. Ask the Audience: how self-indulgent are you allowed to get with something that you're writing for someone else before you're no longer allowed to give it to them? Only I promised fic to someone a while back, and it seems to be turning into a Lord King Bad Fic despite my best intentions.

Good news: I have a lot going on in my Fannish December! Bad news: I have a lot going on in my Fannish December, and exams! Balancing these is going to be interesting.

Yuletide is shaping up to be really awesome. I matched with my recipient on two fandoms, which is always nice. I had a failed fic outlined but not written for one fandom that, with a little bit of evisceration and emotional restructuring, fits very well with what the recipient requested. I'm currently banging away on that one. Unfortunately, although I know that writers are allowed to use all parts of the buffalo, I still feel guilty about giving someone a slightly used idea, so I think I'll probably wind up writing a fic for the second fandom too. And then a random prompt gave me Yuletide Madness ideas, so that might happen too. We'll see how the first two go.

In unexpected but still awesome fannish business, I'm driving the [livejournal.com profile] crack_van for Young Wizards during Small Fandoms Month!  I had honestly forgotten that I had signed up for that.  I'm super-excited (mainly for Crossover Collisions Day, because HAVE  I  GOT  RECS  FOR  THAT), but also super-nervous, because I feel like my taste in YW fic isn't the most mainstream (c.f. my affection for Darryl/Ronan and Lone Power/Winged Defender and relative "meh" about Carmela).
[livejournal.com profile] crack_van is about representing the fandom as a whole, not just your personal Good Bits Version. Blargh.  Fortunately, [livejournal.com profile] doranwen just recently wrote up an awesome recs list, so I'm gonna use that and Delicious to try to figure out whether I've missed any wildly popular fics in the last 3 years.  [personal profile] labellementeuse,[dreamwidth.org profile] trialia  - got any ideas?

Also bad news: between Yuletide and [livejournal.com profile] crack_van, I basically have to table this Generation Kill/Inception crossover that's been brewing for a while right when I figured out how to make it work.
